Welcome to my little guide to Battlestations! As of the moment, this page is still under construction. So I already uploaded some screenshots and the likes but I'd be uploading more of them … ^.^For now, please proceed to Michael Lee's Guide and the Beginner's walkthrough if there are other details that you want to know about Battlestations. And, since BS 2.0 is near, there might be a few upcoming changes to this guide. There will be lots of comments from me here, most of them, closed in a ”()”. Just don't mind them, unless you really want to read it.
On a side note, please do remember that I will not be recommending Character Builds, Weapons or Clans so as not to cause another confusion in the world of Sios. But if you do really need one, there are lots of discussions out there concerning the said topics.
First off, welcome to the world of Sios! Glad that you've graduated from your flying course at Imperial city. Now it's about time that you pilot your own airship and become one of Sios' renowned captains. Are you prepared?
Well, since I already started a BS account, I made another one(what the Sios people called “multis.” Don't look at me, I just made it for the tutorial, nothing else.).So, after you have set up your Facebook account and worked your way to the BS app, you'll surely start with this one:
For now, don't mind the password, but if you already set up your ocho account(Wow, where did you just learned that?), type it in there. Oh, and in this page, you'll see the events that are happening around Sios. Don't worry if you missed the page, you'll log at that same page next time… ^.^
After the trailer video, you'll be directed to your character creation page:
Now choose one. Each of the class have certain specialties. Check Michael Lee's guide for it.
Next, you'll have to do these three:
First will be the gender of your class, his/her name, and the ship name. Make sure you ARE SURE about your details(Though, the ship name can be changed from the port's shipyards later, while the class can be reset at the game options page. We'll tackle glomp them later… ^.^). Remember, there are a millions of names and words for the ship name, so try to be creative. You can also use your own name too!!!
Ok, you're done with your character creation!
After the character creation, you will be directed to the main page. Here, I listed everything you'll have to know about the page..
Action points, or AP for short, is considered to be the force that drives the character to do things around Sios. With AP, you can explore, do quests, mine, war against other forts, and so much more… Oh, before I forget: AP usually gives back gold and experience in return, depending on your actions.
So how does one gain AP? Well, if you look at your current AP, you could see how much time it takes to gain AP. At base, you'll get 5 APs per hour. So you'll ask: Is there any way to get some more APs per hour???
Yes! There is a way. As seen from what is below the main crew…
All you have to do is to increase your crew to 20, and you'll get the maximum +7 APs per hour. Also, you can increase it up to 8 if you'll buy an ocho pack. But this is optional, unless you're really staying on BS for long… ><
“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.”
Oh well, never mind that quote above. Seems like it's not relative to this discussion… ><
Anyways, Experience is… well, just as what the name implies. In order to gain another level, you'll have to fill up your experience meter. The amount of experience required is shown on the right hand side of the experience bar.
!!!Notice that my experience says “25,879K to Level 14?” That means I'll need 25,879,000 more to get to level 14. But don't mind it, just a little note…
Now, let's discuss about the resources. There are four of them at the moment: Gold, Wood, Ore and Plasma Rock.
Gold… Yes… your preciuuusss…. Gold is mostly needed in repairing ships, buying equipments and resources at the shops and markets, contributing to your clan fort and outposts, and upgrading your ship.
There are so many ways to earn gold. First, there's the explore button. Another way is through quests (And… I think this is the fastest way to get one, but not as much gold from explorations). You can also sell off your resources and equipments at the auction to gain gold.
Oh, just a quick thing… This one is not mostly noticed by BS players, but you can actually sell your resources at the port shops for gold… but not as high as what you get on the auctions.(Discussing this more on the next topic.)
Wood is mostly used in upgrading your ship and buying equipments. To get wood, just explore, do quests or buy them at the Resource Market.
Aeronium ore extracted from Sios' mines is another resource important in the game. Most of them have the same purpose as wood: buying equipments and ship upgrades. You can get them through mining(another later topic), quests, explorations, and the resource market.
Ok… And for our most expensive resource, the plasma rock, or what they refer to as “prock.” Along with all the other resources, prock is required in empowering your ship and purchasing equipments. You can grab them from mining, the resource market, and rarely, from explorations and quests. You can also buy them at the ocho shop.
Just another thing: You can also acquire the three resources(excluding gold) at the “resource exchange” shops on the market. Guess I'll pounce on this one too.
Now that you have an idea about the things above, it's about time to ride the winds!!! First, we'll start your captain by clicking “Quests.” This is fastest way to fill up that level bar, and probably a few gold for your captain.
So, click that “Quest” button now…
A few seconds later, you should be on the quest window. But if you think it's taking SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long or it doesn't load at all, it might be a great idea to try the following:
Now, click the first quest. The one in the upper left. Notice that the other one is in red, which means you'll require a certain level to unlock it. Also, there's a few description about the quest and the rewards it give.
Click that one, then click “Do Quest”
A few moments later, you'll receive either this…
Or an unlucky encounter with an NPC. That wasn't unlucky though, if you sink the NPC. You get free experience and gold!!! ^.^
Please do remember that you have chances of getting rares during your quests. Just look around for the appropriate quest … ^.^
